Bar Ape

Bar Ape Gelato
Bar Ape Gelato – Toronto

Bar Ape is located in Toronto’s St. Clair West & Oakwood area, making it slightly north of the downtown core. It’s definitely worth the little extra travel time though.

Flavours here are super unique and based on what is in season. They also frequently partner with other local businesses for special feature flavours. Think gelato featuring jams made by Toronto’s famous Kitten and the Bear tea, scone, and jam shop or flavours like concord grape and hazelnut. Anything goes though and they even feature flavours from around the globe like matcha & black sesame, horchata, grape nut, or salsa macha just to name a few.

The menu changes week to week though so it’s essential you check out their instagram before hand to see what they’re dishing out that week. They often feature 1-2 flavours which are available on their own or can be had as a twist of both flavours. In addition they have sundaes alternate flavours which also change weekly as well (think caramel, black sesame, and many more). You can also buy pints of their delicious gelato to take home. And yes, you guessed it the pint flavours change up weekly as well.

Keep in mind this place is also cash only so be sure to bring some of that Canadian paper with you.

The absolute worst part of this place though? They only open from May-October so plan accordingly and keep a close watch on their instagram for opening hours and flavours.

Also they sell out fast so plan accordingly and show up early if you can. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
