Looking for cute restaurants in Calgary? Well keep on reading because this post will give you all the details of the most beautiful, and of course the most instagrammable restaurants in Calgary. The ones that live up to the hype in terms of beautiful luxe interiors AND food to match.
Cute Restaurants in Calgary
When you think of Calgary Alberta what probably comes to mind is the legendary Calgary Stampede, high quality beef, and the fact that it was even ranked as one of the top five liveable cities in the world. But what you also need to know is that is that it also has one of the best culinary & beverage scenes in Canada. Here are the ones you must try:
Major Tom

When looking for recommendations of cute restaurants in Calgary with good food the first one most people will recommend is most likely going to be Major Tom.
Located on the 40th floor of the Stephen Avenue Place Building the views overlooking Calgary are some of the best you’ll find in the city. You can even see the rocky mountains in the distance just beyond the city skyline. Plus the floor to ceiling windows completely flood the space with natural light by day and the twinkling lights of the downtown backdrop by night make for the ultimate spot with all the right vibes.
Even more impressive than their beautiful interior, if you can believe, is their food. The menu of course prominently features Alberta’s famous beef.
Brushed with butter and broiled to perfection with a caramelized crust you can’t go wrong with anything on their Beef Program section. They even have A5 Wagyu. Oh là là.

In addition to their phenomenal beef program they have a wide variety of inventive and contemporary dishes and appetizers. I especially loved the crispy hen egg which is deep fried perfectly with a jammy egg yolk centre and topped with a pepperoni jam. It’s bursting with flavour and super impressive that the outer deep fried shell is perfectly crisp without being greasy and the yolk just the right consistency. I suspect their chefs must actually be magicians!

If all that wasn’t enough to convince you that you need to eat here then maybe the fact that Major Tom was ranked as one of Canada’s 100 Best restaurants within the first year they opened should. Not an easy feat for a newly opened spot and just another testament to the calibre of dining available in Calgary.
The Wilde – The Dorian Hotel Calgary

The Wilde restaurant is located on the 27th floor of the ultra luxurious The Dorian Hotel.
The interior space of The Wilde Restaurant is swathed in rich hues, textures, and patterns. As soon as you enter you’re greeted by a seating area with emerald green woodwork and plush pink velvet seating is anchored by a large electronic panels that cycles with different art and blends seamlessly as if it were actually painted on.
The bar area is covered with 1920s style mosaic tiles and a live DJ plays all day during their opulent Sunday brunch buffet which is the place to be on the weekend.
And speaking of the brunch it is a feast that is worthy of their beautiful space.
The brunch is split up into 7 different stations throughout the space including:
- Boulangere with breads & pastries
- Charcuterie
- Alberta Beef Tomahawk Carvey
- Wilde Short Plates
- Liquid Nitrogen Seafood Bar
- Canadian Cheese Cart served table side
- Dessert Station
The Wilde Short Plates “station” is made-to-order and you have luxurious offerings like truffle eggs benedict and lobster hash, with an extremely generous sized lobster portion, available to you along with all of the comfort brunch classics like pancakes and waffles.

And since I’m not one to gate keep I have to mention their show stopping patio which is enclosed in glass so you can see the most incredible views of the Calgary skyline while you’re sipping your mimosas and cutting into that truffle eggs benny.
Be sure to book as far in advance as possible as this brunch sells out consistently! Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Orchard Restaurant Calgary

Orchard Restaurant is a breathtakingly beautiful restaurant that is located on the ground level of a high end residential property.
With sky-high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows to match this place is not only filled with plenty of natural light but feels bright, airy, and massive. Plants hang from the ceilings and the walls and are accented by the most elaborate chandelier light fixtures.

The food is nothing short of delicious. The menu focuses on Mediterranean cuisine with Asian twists.
Calcutta Cricket Club

Calcutta Cricket Club is one of the best Indian restaurants in Calgary. Not only does it have fantastic Indian cuisine but the interior is absolutely show-stopping. You’re not sure where to look because every single inch if it is covered in beautiful tiling, wallpaper, and carefully curated decor accents.

As for the food you’ll find Indian classics as well as Indian dishes with modern twists. Don’t forget to order their mango lassi gin fizz cocktail as well. It’s definitely something you’ll want to wash down all the amazing Indian dishes you’re about to be treated to.
Park – Sidewalk Citizen Bakery

Park by Sidewalk Citizen Bakery is a beautifully designed space with the most incredible wooden latticework vaulted ceiling. The space is modern, yet cozy with fireplaces throughout the space and plenty of plants to bring in natural elements.
The menu is Mediterranean focused and the brunch in particular is especially drool-worthy. Be sure to book a reservation here well in advance to avoid any disappointment. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
Made by Marcus Calgary

Made by Marcus is a local Alberta artisanal ice cream shop that is not only known for their high quality ice cream but also their innovative and creative flavors.
The ice cream here is made in small batches and they pride themselves on using dairy from grass-fed cows and ingredients that are sourced from local shops, farms, craftsmen.
The menu consists of a set of classic flavour that are available all year and also monthly features like marshmallow ube passionfruit (pictured above).
In addition they have whimsical sundaes which also change up monthly. While I was there they featured cereal milk strawberry shortcake and it was every bit as magical as it looks (also pictured above) and sounds.
You might also want to check out Made by Marcus on Tuesdays. They feature a waffle cone that is shaped like a taco that is then filled with a featured ice cream flavour and then topped with various fun and playful additions. It definitely brings a whole new and delicious meaning to Taco Tuesdays!
MobSquad Café

Ok, so MobSquad Café is technically a coffee shop and not a restaurant, but I’d be doing you all a disservice if I didn’t mention it because it is a stunner!
MobSquad Café sits on the 21st floor of the Edison building and is a cross between industrial chic and art gallery with it’s polished concrete flooring and art pieces spread throughout the space. There’s even a ping pong table should you wish to work off some of the amazing coffee you’re about to consume.
My favourite drink here was definitely the rose latte which has a latte sweetened perfectly with a pump (or two!) of rose infused syrup that is then lined with edible dried rose petals at the edge of your cup.

The best place to enjoy your coffee is definitely by one of the window seats where you can over look all of downtown Calgary!
