Last week I had the opportunity to attend the This Is Vintages event held at the beautiful Glass Factory at 99 Sudbury Street. Vintages is the fine wine and spirit sector available at Ontario’s LCBO which offers expert chosen, carefully selected wine and spirits from around the world that are great quality at reasonable cost. They have everything from a approachable wines for less than $20 to the most exclusive bottles. Basically it’s the good stuff without the pretentiousness, which makes it that much more drool-worthy.

This event was one of their walk-around tastings where for $55 per ticket you get an evening of hot appetizers, entertainment, and samplings of over 60+ Vintages products from their Essentials colletion. For real, you can not even get dinner at a mid-range restaurant for $55 without wine these days so the value of what’s included is just ridiculously stellar. Unsurprisingly the event was completely sold out and when I arrived the venue was packed.

One of my favorite parts of the evening (besides the delicious wines and food of course) was the amount of entertainment provided. With live music, a juggler, bocce ball(yes there was bocce ball!), and the cutest plant feature wall to take pictures at it was the perfect way to spend the night with a group of friends or as a fun casual date night.

Of course the star of the evening was being able to try out  the different wines and spirits offered at the event. With over 60+ to choose from it’s not only a fun evening but a great way to try out and discover new favorites before committing to purchasing an entire bottle the next time you’re looking for some vino. Plus each station had winery suppliers or Vintages experts on site so that you got the full experience with each pour. Only the best and most knowledgeable service here so you know exactly where your wine comes from, what notes it has, and what it’s best served with.

Some of my new favorite discoveries from the evening were Lake Sonoma Zinfandel, Caves D’Esclans Whispering Angel Rosé, and Nonino ùe monovitigno fragolino grappa. You had better believe that I saved those gems as favorites on the LCBO app so I can easily “add to cart” next time I want to buy my next bottle online through their website. The cottage is going to be that much more relaxing with some of these new favorites.
