Born to Let Go

Born to Let Go. What does it mean to let go? For me, it’s about trying something new. Something unexpected. Something that I never have really done before. I did just that recently on a girl’s trip with Bella, Julia, Brooke, Krystle, and Braedin (our talented photographer) to Quebec where I fully immersed myself in the outdoors and the elements.

For a city person like me, the outdoors is an unfamiliar and mysterious place. Regular readers of the blog you know that on a recent trip to Tahiti I once thought a hike would basically involve a leisurely stroll through a tree-lined park with a paved pathway. If you’re an adventure amateur like me, but are curious about seeing what an outdoor adventure is like then let me take you along and show you how you can fully enjoy the outdoors without going into complete shock.

Why Quebec is Badass for Adventure

When most people think of Quebec they automatically think of or have been to Montreal or Quebec City. I know I did. But as the largest province in Canada there is so much more, and if you’re looking for the ultimate adventure then look no further than Quebec. I had the pleasure of checking out 3 gems of Quebec with the girls that will leave you breathless at how connected you will feel with nature.

The Laurentians

Located just 1.5 hours from Quebec City, The Laurentians is most well known for their Laurentian Mountains, one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world. With 22,000 square kilometres of lush forests, lakes, rivers, and the cutest little mountain resort villages you could easily spend forever here in complete bliss.

Not to mention they’re home to some of the most unique accommodations you could possibly stay at. Floating cabins or mythical treehouses anyone?

Often referred to as “AT” for short, Abitibi-Témiscamingue is located in Northwestern Quebec. With 22,000 lakes and rivers it is also one of the youngest, untouched, and undiscovered areas of Quebec. It also has one of the newest national parks, Opémican National Park, which opened just this year. You’ll want to be one of the first to visit. Not only because it is crazy beautiful, but let’s be real, who doesn’t like being one of the firsts to do something? Outaouais is also located in the Western region of Quebec and borders Ontario. It sits just north of the Ottawa River and is the striking balance between cultural, historic, and outdoor sites. Outaouais is the place where you will find world class spas, cuisine, and outdoor activities. It also has the most memorable spots to visit and stay at if you want to be one with wilderness. Now’s your opportunity to stay at the world’s largest wood cabin or at the Wolf Cabin where you’ll have a front row seat from your bed of some of the most beautiful creatures.
